What does that mean for Lumeon customers?
Health systems have committed heavy investments to gathering patient data. But still, today, this data is stuck in the record and is primarily used passively and retrospectively. Instead, it should be working for us every second of the day and across every corner of the institution. Data is the shot of digital adrenaline we can use to orchestrate and coordinate care – but how do we inject it
If thoughtfully applied as an essential ingredient in the process of care, data has the potential to optimize the entire health system’s performance. We can transform care to make it precisely coordinated and according to a care plan for every patient, ensuring smooth transitions from one care setting to the next.
While Lumeon has interoperated with the Cerner EHR for many years, we are proud to announce that we have become a validated App and developer within Cerner’s code Developer Program. Becoming a code developer means Lumeon’s Care Orchestration Platform demonstrates interoperability with patient data from Cerner’s EHR in real-time. It extends the EHR’s reach so health systems can better guide patients and care teams along the most efficient path to the best outcome, from referral to recovery.
The code program helps enable healthcare innovation by opening technology providers like Lumeon to exchange EHR data with applications via standards-based APIs built on SMART on FHIR standards.
What does this have to do with Lumeon? It comes down to enabling automated Care Orchestration. Health systems that have deployed Cerner can now use Lumeon to automate and coordinate existing care processes to optimize their performance. Importantly, they can do this without changing the way they work and across various service lines and functions, from intake management, to pre-operative and discharge readiness, care transitions, follow-up, and recall.
By activating Cerner patient data with a new system of action that orchestrates care, health systems can realize immediate benefits such as reducing staff burnout, improving productivity, and achieving more predictable patient outcomes.
