Lumeon Included in the 2018 Hype Cycle Reports for U.S. Healthcare Payers, Consumer Engagement with Healthcare and Wellness, and Real-Time Health System Technologies
BOSTON – August 9, 2018 – Lumeon, the leader in Care Pathway Management (CPM), today announced it was named a Sample Vendor for Healthcare Consumer Engagement Hub (HCCEH) within Gartner’s Hype Cycle for U.S. Payers, 2018 and its Hype Cycle for Consumer Engagement with Healthcare and Wellness, 2018. Lumeon was also named a Sample Vendor for Real-Time Health System Platforms within Gartner’s Hype Cycle for Real-Time Health System Technologies, 2018.
In the July 2018 Gartner Hype Cycle reports for U.S. Payers, 2018 and Consumer Engagement with Healthcare and Wellness, 2018, Gartner analysts Bryan Cole, Mandi Bishop, Jeff Cribbs and Mark E. Gilbert note that, “…as the industry seeks to be more efficient, convenient and personalized, the HCCEH will provide the intelligence to direct consumers among a growing number of settings of care, digital interactions and virtual care options. In the payer industry, however, additional sources of value can be realized in medical cost, operational efficiency, or revenue improvement via risk adjustment and quality-based reimbursement.”
The report also states, “The HCCEH will deliver value to healthcare organizations in the same way that the CEH will deliver value in other industries — with improved satisfaction, gained and retained consumers (that is patients and members), and better brand advocacy. In healthcare, however, there is great potential for additional value streams. Numerous studies have shown that improving integration and workflow between administrative functions (like scheduling an appointment or finding a doctor) with clinical functions (like a care manager call or physician office visit) can significantly improve clinical and financial outcomes. .”
Gartner’s annual Hype Cycle tracks the maturity and adoption rates of technology developments and provides critical insights for CIOs to identify, understand and prioritize significant technology investments. In the reports, Gartner identifies the HCCEH as an Emerging Technology that contributes to the development of the Payer, Healthcare and Wellness environments with a benefit rating of High.
“We believe in the tremendous benefits that this kind of technology can create for patients by providing a more Amazon-like digital experience, and feel it’s an honor to be named in three Hype Cycles this year,” said Robbie Hughes, Lumeon CEO. “Particularly at a time when providers’ costs are skyrocketing, payment incentives are increasingly focused on outcomes, and patient satisfaction is more important than ever, Lumeon’s CPM approach is challenging the status quo by putting every patient on a planned and personalized path of care that coordinates the right resources, in real time, to deliver better health.”
Gartner analysts Gregg Pessin and Barry Runyon similarly stated in the July 2018 Hype Cycle for Real-Time Health System Technologies, 2018, “a healthcare provider at highest level of RTHS maturity possesses ubiquitous enterprise awareness and operational intelligence augmented by real-time analytics that is deliberately applied to contemporary operational events and circumstances surrounding the patient.” They go on to advise the application of “situational awareness and operational intelligence to continuously improve the patient experience and outcomes by continuously reducing response time and increasing response quality.”
By combining intelligent orchestration and automation, removing siloed systems and accelerating care with patient engagement technologies, Lumeon’s CPM platform ensures care teams are cued to act in real time with the right intervention and only when required, reducing costly variation in the delivery of care, while continuously engaging patients along the way.
